Minneapolis Breakfast Club

Homerun this week!!!

Take me out to the ballgame!  It’s a lovely day at CHS Field, Breakfast Club members! Dick Anderson showed up first, as old ball players tend to show up early to get ready for the game.

President Robbie Danko started us off today with an appropriate quote: “It’s not the team with the best players that win. It’s the players with the best team that wins.”

Our guests on this beautiful morning were Don Bowman brought by Dick Anderson, Chuck Shreffler’s wife Beth Fondell, Jacob Stonesifer with the Boy Scouts of America brought by Craig Blixrud, and Mike Palm, Jr. Our honorary members in attendance were Mark Simon and Ron Britz.

This year’s boat cruise had over 45 attendees enjoy a night under the stars on August 24th. Thank you to Mike Palm for arranging a beautiful evening of camaraderie with our Breakfast Club members and their guests!

Please take a moment to sign up for your 2018 Craft Talk slot with Craig Blixrud.  You can email him at blixrudhomes@gmail.com to sign up or if you have any questions.

There will be NO MEETING next week.

This Week’s Craft Talk

The St. Paul Saints Baseball club was formed in 1992 and is the premier independent baseball club. Their motto “FUN is GOOD” is exemplified in everything they do with zany promotions such as the most recent Twister event this past week as well as having a trained pig, Alternative Fats, deliver baseballs to the umpire. There are only 3 games left in the season next week so get to the beautiful CHS field to enjoy the experience.

Please register for next week’s Pot of Gold with Tom Whaley via email at twahley@saintsbaseball.com.

It was a brief and bustling business exchange with the following members being thanked: Coldwell Banker Burnet, Carey Limousine, HBS Janitorial Services, Berger Transfer & Storage, House Lift Remodeler, and Coldwell Banker Commercial-Griffin.

Table introductions were made at Table #2 by Les Jones Roofing who shared their first major league baseball experiences.

Today’s Pot of Gold was drawn by Tom Ashbaugh of Ashbaugh Financial, and our winner was Richard Lindskoog of Lindskoog Florists!

Our Craft Talk Speaker was Tom Whaley of The St Paul Saints introduced by Robbie Danko of LVC Companies, filling in for Julius Webster of D.J. Kranz.

There will be NO MEETING next week, August 30th. Our next meeting on September 6th will be held onsite at The Woman’s Club.  Our Craft Talk Speakers will be a panel of honorary members sharing their views on retirement.
