Good morning, Breakfast Club! The early birds had to show up in the dark this morning. The State Fair is over and fall is now officially in the air.
President Robbie Danko called the meeting to order. She reminded us that there are a couple of bad things about retirement: there are no days off and no paid vacation days.
Katy Wilson, a financial planner, found us via the internet and came for breakfast. Welcome!
Our honorary members in attendance were Mark Simon, Ron Britz, and Martin Peyer.
Please sign up for your 2018 Craft Talk slot with Craig Blixrud. You can email him with questions or to sign up at blixrudhomes@gmail.com.
Information about the 55+ driver’s course was circulated by Craig Blixrud.
John Winston had shoulder surgery and may be out 6-9 months. He is responding to emails, so please send your well wishes to john@winstonlawoffice.com.
Dave Mitchell said that Berger Transfer & Storage needs a customer service representative. Todd Anderson of Carey Limousine is looking for a reservations person. Kelsey Wolter from Bullseye Media has a friend looking for a new career path and had circulated his resume. Also, even though he wasn’t there, Randy Korn of House Lift Remodeler needs carpenters.
Our meeting on September 20th will be held OFFSITE at Berger Transfer & Storage.
This Week’s Craft Talk
Chris Leonard moderated a panel composed of Mark Simon, Ron Britz, Martin Peyer, and Bill McReavy.
These distinguished panelists told of their journey to retirement and what it looked like for them. Of course, Bill McReavy, Sr. has no plans to retire anytime soon.
It turns out none of the panelists have retired to a rocking chair and all continue to work on things that interest them greatly.
As Martin Peyer put it, “You will need purpose and fulfillment to have a great retirement.”
All of the retired members put thought into planning for retirement several years before actually retiring.
Please register for next week’s Pot of Gold with Robbie Danko at rdanko@lvcinc.com.
We had a wonderful business exchange today, with the following members being thanked: Berger Transfer & Storage, Zip Printing, Knollwood Liquor Store, Anderson Furniture, Shreffler Law, PLLC, DESQ Office Solutions, Bullseye Media, Armor Mechanical, Ashbaugh Financial, and Les Jones Roofing.
Today’s Pot of Gold was drawn by Kelsey Wolter of Bullseye Media, and our winner was Chuck Shreffler of Shreffler Law, PLLC!
Our Craft Talk Speaker was a member panel discussion on retirement.
Next week’s meeting will be held onsite at The Woman’s Club. Our Craft Talk Speaker will be Lupient Automotive Group. Table Introductions will be made at Table #7 by AAA Minneapolis.
