Minneapolis Breakfast Club

Help Your Neighbors Thrive with Meals From The Heart, Hosted by Toshiba Business Solutions

It’s mid-October already with a dark start to the morning. The usual early birds gathered to swap stories of the week and solve the world’s problems in a half hour’s time.

President Robbie Danko called our meeting to order this morning with three one-liners.

Today’s guests were Peter Eaton brought by Tom Ashbaugh who came for a third visit and is submitting his application for membership. In addition, Don Thiets brought his brother Tom Thiets and Todd King, and Dick Lindskoog brought Bill Junco.

Our honorary members in attendance were Russ Bremner, Ron Britz, Mark Simon and Martin Peyer.

We are still in need of more members to sign up for the 2018 Craft Talk schedule.  Please contact Craig Blixrud to choose your spot, find out available dates, or if you have any questions at blixrudhomes@gmail.com.

We are considering having headshot photos available for $100 each at a future meeting using a professional photographer. Robbie Danko will be polling members for interest via email in the coming days.

On October 26th, Bullseye Media is planning a happy hour and everyone is invited.  Halloween costumes are optional, with more information to come later this month.

Lindskoog Florists has been sold to Bill Junco, and they will remain a member of the Breakfast Club. Congratulations to Dick Lindskoog and John Moorhead¸ and welcome, Bill!

Don Thiets then introduced his brother, Tom Thiets and Todd King to speak about Meals from the Heart.

Meals from the Heart provides meals to local food shelfs by partnering with businesses and organizations to pack their unique food and then distributing the food through local food shelfs in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Did you know that one in 10 Minnesotans and one in 9 Wisconsinites have food security issues? Meals from the Heart works to alleviate the problem. They have 3 chef designed flavors (soon to be four) that are packaged in a bag and serves 6 people. They produce and package the food for 18 cents a meal and charge organizations that do the packing 25 cents a meal. To pack a meal all they ask is that you have 8 teams of 20+ people available for a 2 hour fun event.

Some of their partners are Medtronic, 3M, CHS, Andersen Windows, and many more.

You can contact Todd King at tking@mealsfromtheheart.org or 612-723-6879 for more info.
