Minneapolis Breakfast Club

Keep Up To Date on Minnesota’s Government with Solomon Strategies Group, LLC

Good morning, Breakfast Club members! Dick Anderson showed up first this morning, looking for a little conversation to start the day.  He was joined by Robert Sanberg as he was walking in.

President Robbie Danko called the meeting to order with a thought on empathy today.  “Instead of putting others in their place, put yourself in their place.”

Our guests in attendance today were Peyton Hodge of Minnesota United Soccer Club and Maureen Roushar of Eway Corporation.

Our honorary members today were Mark Simon and Martin Peyer.

Please sign up with Craig Blixrud at blixrudhomes@gmail.com for your 2018 Craft Talk slot, and indicate if it will be at the Woman’s Club, or offsite at a location of your choice.

Lindskoog Florists will have Thanksgiving centerpieces for sale on our table next week.

Registration for the Pot of Gold can be done via email, phone call, in-person visit, text, and/or social media. If you are unable to register by one of these methods, you can register at our meeting on Wednesday by presenting the speaker $2.  The key reason for registration is to thank the Craft Talk speaker for taking the time to inform and educate the Club about their business.

There was a board meeting after today’s breakfast.

This Week’s Craft Talk

Jim Erickson of Solomon Strategies Group filled in for Printastik while Gabe is recovering from surgery.    Jim first covered the Expo 2023 vote to be taken later in the day (Argentina won).  He presented a slide show on the national chase to be the Amazon HQ2.   His client Towerside (north of University Avenue, between TCF Stadium and Highway 280) is one of the leading sites for the up to 50,000 employee second headquarters for Amazon.    Amazon has received a total of 238 site responses to its RFP, 18 of which are in Minnesota.   Jim also addressed some of the current political news, as well as bit of political history from the 1780’s.
