Early Birds: Mark Arnold and Dick Anderson came early to beat the snow (Which isn’t supposed to happen until 3 PM)

Guests: None today

Honorary Members: Mark Simon, Dick Nelson, Tom Donnelly and Cathy Daluge were in attendance today.

President Chuck Shreffler brought the meeting to order with a ring of the bell and a moment of silence.

Announcements:

  1. February 26 we will have a joint meeting with the Ham n’ Eggs group. The guest speaker will be Peter Vodenka, Author, Speaker, Immigrant American “Journey to Freedom Revisited”. Invite some friends/associates.
  2. Mark Simon’s grandson is an young amateur actor and he recently won the “Best Male Actor in Minnesota” award beating out professional actors who were nominated. No word as to whether or not his acceptance speech referenced cows.

Business Networking: Insperity is looking for outside sales people. Houselift is still looking for a Sales/Design Consultant person. Continental Diamond is having a “Necklace Event” this week. LVC is also looking for staff: a Fire Extinguisher Tech, Sprinkler System estimator, and even a technician for their Rochester location.

Business Exchange: Jim Christianson started us off and was followed by Dwain Coleman, Chuck Shreffler, and Dick Anderson.

Table Introductions: Table #3 was introduced by Craig Blixrud, who went old school and introduced each member and their business.

Pot of Gold: Jim Christianson drew 5 cards and today’s winner was Renata Faeth.

Craft Talk:

Jim Christianson introduced Joe Kankovsky of Electronic Design.

Joe is a Nebraska native and graduated from the University of Nebraska/Omaha.

Joe is married to Patty and has one daughter and one granddaughter.

His career arc covered mainly sales positions with Grocery Wholesalers, Kellog, Central Telephone and Electronic Design that he joined in 2002.

In 2015, Joe bought Electronic Design which specializes in critical AV systems.

Electronic design supplies, builds, and maintains custom systems for distributing voice and video throughout a commercial business. Electronic Design was started in 1955. In 1969 they were the first company to sell a commercial phone system. Their signature project has been the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the paging system at the MSP airport. In 1986 they built a MNDOT Fiber network.

Over the last 4 years they have serviced clients such as Mayo Clinic, Mayo Civic Center, Target Center, and many more. They work with commercial clients of all sizes. Give Joe a call to see what Electronic Design can do for you.
