Craft Talk

Today’s Craft speaker was Bill McReavy jr filling in for Sean Merkel of Summit who was out of town this week.

Bill updated us on how business has changed as a result of the pandemic. The number of funerals they have had is up significantly, but the cost of operating has also risen. They currently do have family viewings and public viewings at their chapels. But are limited to 50% of capacity and they are very strict about that.

They regularly webcast funeral services and think that will stay as part of their business. When public viewings are held, they often have a 4-hour window instead of a 2-hour window for visitors. All visitors are registered for COVID-19 tracking.

About 50% of the time their funerals are at a church as opposed to one of their chapels and all the same rules apply.

Washburn-McReavy strives to have zero physical contact with their clients and are rigorous about digital signatures on forms, masks, social distancing, and no contact rules.

Please register with Bill McReavy Jr at BillMcReavy@Washburn-McReavy.com or 612-865-5523.
