Fire Alarms & Security Systems

In 1982, Low Voltage Contractors (LVC) began as a small electrical installation company.  We would install the electrical detection and control portion of Halon 1301 fire suppression systems.

Building on this experience, LVC intentionally expanded our customer base and sales by entering the Fire Alarm market.  Our efforts earned a significant boost in 1986 when LVC was named a distributor for Notifier.  In 1993, LVC was also selected as a NESCO affiliate, which was the top level under Notifier’s marketing plan.

LVC continued to expand and entered the security market in 1996 and has become a leader in multiple disciplines within the security platform.  These disciplines include; Intrusion Detection, Electronic Access Control, Video Surveillance, Biometrics, Analytics, Mobile Duress, and more.

Since that time, we have expanded our product offerings to include a total technology systems approach.  These disciplines include but not limited to, Structured Cabling, A/V, Sound Masking and Paging. We have also added Specialty Hazard Detection along with Emergency Notification Systems. These additional product and service offerings have set us up for future growth by providing the technology and expertise to be a “Smart Building” contractor, ready to completely service all of your building infrastructure needs.

LVC has always committed to excellence so we have an extensive training program that includes keeping our employees at the forefront with technology for all our product and service offerings.

In addition to work done in Minneapolis, LVC has a number of National Accounts for which we provide services throughout the continental United States.  LVC has regional offices located in Rochester, Hibbing, and International Falls, MN, Eau Claire, WI, and Tempe, AZ.

Throughout our history, LVC has continually received recognition for our outstanding commitment to safety.  LVC has a written Safety Program and participates in the AWAIR program.  Throughout a large portion of our history, LVC has been annually awarded the MN Safety Council “Governors Safety Award”, and in 2010, 2011 and 2012 we were chosen to receive the “Award of Honor,” which is given to only the top 40 companies in the State for on the job safety.  As we move into the future, we look forward to building upon these strengths and expanded technology offerings.
